The salle will be open 10-15 minutes before the
start of each lesson or practice, so plan to arrive a bit early to
dress
and stretch. The 6:00-7:00 p.m. hour is for those
interested in paying a small fee for additional instruction and more
focus, such as a specific
weapon class. The drills at 7:00 p.m. are the start of the club practice, a time
in which all club
members can expect to review the basics like footwork, distance, bladework, et cetera, as a
group at a consistent time.

SCFC members love to share the sport of fencing by staging
demonstrations throughout the community. It's just one
more way you can get involved and fence. Contact
Steve K
for details. |
Are you someone that would like to be part of a great
program, but not the one on the strip with a weapon in your
hand? Offer your time as a volunteer at an upcoming
tournament. We need helpers at the registration table,
t-shirt sales, timers, and more. Sign up with

SCFC Salle Rules & Etiquette
When fencing at the salle, please keep the following in mind:
• Enjoy yourself and be respectful of other fencers!
• Open Fencing is open to everyone - members, non-fencing members,
and nonmembers alike. SCFC members fence for free at all open
fencing sessions.
• Fencers should bring their own gear for open fencing. Club gear
may be available at the discretion of the Floor Leader.
• If you are not a current, fencing member of the club, you may
fence during an open fencing session by:
o Paying the $5.00 floor fee OR
o Taking a private lesson – the floor fee is included in the price of a
lesson
• The floor fee does not entitle a fencer to use club equipment or
the armory.
• At the discretion of the Instructor, a non-member who has just
finished a private lesson may continue to use club gear for open
fencing that same day. People taking lessons are strongly
encouraged, but not required, to join the club.
• Classes are only available to club members.
• Fencers must wear appropriate, safe attire. This is defined as
clothing that at minimum covers all skin above the knees (all skin
from head to toe for epee), with the exception of the non-weapon
hand. Clothing should not have cargo pockets or other
likely-to-snag features. Baggy clothing should be avoided.
Athletic shoes must be worn.
• Visitors must be escorted by a club member.
• Please help keep the facility clean and orderly.
• Please keep your fencing gear away from the couch/social area if
space permits.
• No alcohol is allowed on the premises.
• The Floor Leader is in charge of the salle and he/she will not
allow dangerous or out-of-control fencing. Fencers fencing
dangerously will be warned. Continued unsafe fencing or
inappropriate behavior will result in ejection from the salle.
